Animal Reaction Feature:
At 11 am, a boy was mowing the lawn when his 3-year-old dog began barking at a domed disc hovering over a nearby field.  The dog stood and barked furiously, hair raised up and moved only when the boy moved.

Joan Woodward, Animal Reaction Specialist:
On a clear morning in an area described as a farm and lake, the 12-year-old witness was alerted by his dog and saw the object hovering as described above.  The object quickly moved off, executed a loop, and disappeared in the distance to the NE.  It was visible for only 5-10 seconds.

The object had a black, flattened oval bottom with a gray-white oval “bump” on top of that (2/3 of the bottom’s width) and a gray-white high central dome on top of that (1/3 the bottom’s width).  At least part of the surface was reflective. 

Distances were not estimated (other than “nearby field.”).  The elevation was estimated to be 45 degrees.

The boy reported shaking nervously during and after the sighting. 

The sighting was referred to MUFON by the Ohio Air National Guard and was investigated on site.

No sound was heard.  No EM effects or physiological effects were reported.
