At 2200 CST, 1st Lt. Ralph H. Bauer, 321st Bomb. Squadron,
a B-29 bombardier, while flying in a B-29 at 30,000 feet in an
easterly direction, observed a fan-shaped light approximately 50 feet
across. The light was approximately 5,000 feet above the B-29 and
moving rapidly to the west. The base and sides of the fan were sharply
defined. The light pulsated at an estimated 3 to 4 times a second.
