2-19-51	Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa	Cigar-shaped UFO with vertical bands, hovering, sighted by airline pilot and crew; after 15 to 20 minutes suddenly shot straight up. [Section X]
8-51	Near Murray, Kentucky	Silver, roughly triangle-shaped object hovered, then shot straight up.

3-20-52	Near Misawa, Japan	USAF pilot saw small disc maneuvering close to plane, pass in front, shoot out of sight in near vertical climb. [Section I]
6-1-52	Los Angeles, California	Radar tracking of target at 11,000 feet, which suddenly tripled speed and climbed rapidly about 35,000 feet per minute. Other maneuvers followed. [Section VIII]
6-13-52	Le Bourget, France	Pilot, control tower operator, saw bright orange-red object speed away after hovering about an hour. [Section X]
7-1-52	Fort Monmouth, New Jersey	Radar-visual sighting of two shiny object which approached slowly from northeast, hovered for about 5 minutes, then sped off with a terrific burst of speed to the southwest. [Section VIII]
7-5-52	Near Richlands, Washington	Airline pilots saw "perfectly round disc" hover, accelerate and speed away. [Section V]
7-13-52	Washington, D.C.	Airline pilot report from CAA study: "the object came to within two miles of the aircraft and hovered at the same altitude. Pilot switched on all lights, ball of light took off, going up and away." [Section XII; July 1952 Chronology]
7-18-52	Patrick AFB, Florida	After 4 UFOs circled area and flew away, two approached base, hovered; circled, accelerated at terrific speed and flashed away to west. [Section XII; July 1952 Chronology]
7-22-52	New Smyrna Beach, Florida	Metallic disc hovered about 10 seconds, shot away in abrupt fast climb. [Section XII; July 1952 Chronology]
7-23-52	Culver City, California	Elliptical UFO hovered (2 smaller objects emerged, rejoined) and climbed straight up at tremendous speed. [Section II]
7-26-52	California	USAF F-94C chased UFO, got radar lock-on, saw large orange light; each time jet tried to close, UFO would suddenly pull away at terrific speed, then slow down again until jet began to gain. [Section VIII; Radar]
8-1-52	Bellefontaine, Ohio	USAF jet pilots climbed toward hovering UFO which accelerated and disappeared at high speed. [Section VIII; Radar]
8-5-52	Haneda AFB, Japan	Dark circular object with bright lights hovered near control tower; suddenly accelerated and sped away dividing into three units. [Section VIII; Radar]
8-6/7-52	Kerkrade, Holland	Disc hovered, accelerated rapidly and climbed away at high speed. Another disc hovered, zigzagged, sped away. [Section X]
8-29-52	Villacoublay, France	In two separate instances, observers at meteorological station, using a theodolite, observed circular UFOs which first hovered, then streaked away. [Section X]
9-20-52	Topcliffe, England	Disc which had followed Meteor jet to field hovered rotating; then accelerated and vanished to southeast. [Section XII; "Operation Mainbrace" Chronology]
10-11-52	Newport News, Virginia	Disc-shaped object with "dome" hovering for 20 minutes, reported to Langley Field. As two jets neared on intercept, UFO tilted up, shot away.
10-13-52	Oshima, Japan	USAF pilot observed disc hovering in clouds for seven minutes; then saw it speed away to west, disappearing in seconds. [Section III]
2-16-53	Near Anchorage, Alaska	USAF C-47 pilot observed bright red light (first below horizon, ruling out stars and planets); object approached, hovered for about 5 minutes. Plane gave chase, UFO accelerated and shortly vanished. [Section III]
11-10-53	Knutsford, England	UFO with ports or "windows" first hovered, the moved north at very high speed.
3-9-54	Cincinnati, Ohio	Elliptical UFO hovered about 8 minutes; accelerated rapidly, disappearing in seconds in near vertical climb.
3-24-54	Florida	Marine Corps pilot banked toward hovering, round UFO to try for gun camera pictures; object took off at terrific speed. [Section IV]
5-27-54	Somerset, England	Glowing UFO hovered for about two minutes, took off at high speed.
5-30-54	Bainbridge, N.Y.	Silver, elliptical UFO with four "ports" moved slowly on horizontal course; accelerated rapidly and climbed out of sight in seconds.
6-26-54	Idaho Falls, Idaho	Brilliant light flared up above AEC station, hovered several seconds, then zoomed up out of sight.
7-3-54	Albuquerque, New Mexico	Nine spherical UFOs, glowing green, observed north of station; hovered, "then proceeded 340º at approximately 2,600 mph." [Section VIII; Radar]
7-28-54	Atlantic Ocean off New York City, New York	Officers of Dutch liner observed disc with spots of light around edge hovering just over sea about 40º off port bow; UFO then shot up into clouds.
9-9-54	Nelson, New Zealand	Three discs hovered over mud flats; two tipped on edge, streaked up vertically; third followed shortly afterward. [Section VIII; Photographs]
9-15-54	Bihar, India	Saucer-shaped UFO descended and hovered at about 500 feet altitude; emitted "smoke" and "soared upwards at an incredible speed." [Section X]
9-17-54	Near Rome, Italy	Disc-like UFO flew along Italian coast, tracked by radar, hovered. "Suddenly it shot upward...straight up into the sky...What was strange was the object's ability to 'park' in midair for several minutes." (Eyewitness account quoted by INS)
10-3-54	Rue de Fleury, France	Dome-shaped UFO hovered motionless for minutes; suddenly accelerated at tremendous speed and disappeared to south southwest.
10-22-54	Marysville, Ohio	School principal and teacher watched cigar-shaped UFO hover over school, saw "angel's hair" fall. UFO took off rapidly disappearing horizontally. [Section VIII]
11-12-54	Oolitic, Indiana	White, ball-like object made explosive sound, moved south at rapid rate; stopped and hovered for about 1-1/2 hours.
4-22-55	Tintinara, Australia	Silver, spherical object surrounded by flange (Saturn-shaped) moving very slowly over road; turned about 90º, accelerated and climbed rapidly.
5-25-55	London, England	Circular object rapidly approached B-47, stopped above it for about 5 seconds; pulled to one side, reversed direction, hovered for about 8 seconds, shot away at high speed.
7-9-55	Santa Catalina Channel, California	Cylindrical UFO, turning rapidly on own axis, hovered for 16 minutes; then zigzagged upward at high speed into clouds.
7-17-55	Canton, Ohio	Disc (domed on top and bottom) hovered, airliner neared, UFO went straight up and disappeared into an overcast.[1]
7-26-55	Washington, D.C.	Brilliant round UFO approached airport, stopped; oscillated, and moved off at high speed. [Section VIII; E-M Effects]
7-26-55	Hants, England	Boomerang-shaped UFO "rather like flattened triangle" hovered above a glider for about 30 seconds, then sped away to northwest, "swooped down very fast, and disappeared behind trees on the horizon."[2]
8-6-55	Cincinnati, Ohio	Blinding white ovoid object sitting on ground suddenly ascended and streaked away at incredible speed to northwest.
8-21-55	Chalmette, Louisiana	Disc with ring (Saturn-type) hovered, rotating slowly; began moving, tilted on edge, shot away.
12-29-55	New Britain, Connecticut	Brilliant reddish-white light tracked on radar moving slowly (12-15 knots) into wind. [See Section VIII, Radar].
1-17-56	Orangeville, Canada	Disc-shaped UFO (giving appearance of three concentric rings) hovered; glowed more intensely, began moving horizontally, shot up in spiral motion, disappearing in 5 to 6 seconds.
2-17-56	Orly Airport, France	UFO tracked on radar, and seen visually as a bright light, approached at high speed; bobbed around area hovering at various points for several hours, the departed at high speed. [Section X]
6-27-56	Trieste, Italy	Numerous persons near the sea coast reported a luminous UFO which hovered about 10 seconds, then shot away at high speed to the northeast.
7-19-56	Phoenix, Arizona	Round object, apparently spherical, hovered; lower hemisphere dimmed, object sped away.
1-21-57	Army base	Captain and Master Sergeant watched two UFOs maneuvering close together at high altitude; one shot away at very high rate of speed in level flight. Disc-shaped. [Section IV]
2-13-57	Burbank, California	Several oval UFOs observed maneuvering over city at various times on night of February 13/14.Police officer said UFOs would dart across sky, hover briefly, then speed away. Woman reported oval object emitting light beams; "then it went straight up and disappeared."
10-8-57	Fiji Islands	Circular UFO which descended and hovered low over water seen from separate locations by minister, natives; natives reported figure of man on object, blinding light; then UFO shot straight up and disappeared.
10-23-57	Kent, England	White disc dropped through cloud cover on edge, hovered just under clouds; shot north still on edge, then tilted (showing as a relatively thin line) and climbed rapidly into clouds.
11-2-57	Near Seminole, New Mexico	Lights seen on road ahead of car; motor stalled and headlights failed as driver neared object; then lights suddenly rose into sky and sped away. [Other similar cases in November 1957; see Chronology this section]
11-6-57	Marion, Indiana	Cigar-shaped UFO with string of bright lights; hovered, then moved away at high speed.
12-16-57	Old Saybrook, Connecticut	Elliptical UFO with four square "ports" hovered just above ground, then began moving, accelerating rapidly to east. Witness reported seeing forms of two robot-like figures through "ports.
5-5-58	San Carlos, Uruguay	Disc-like UFO approached plane, hovered; as pilot tried to close on object, it darted away east toward the sea. [Section X]
8-24-58	Westwood, New Jersey	Police saw glowing orange circular UFO; first motionless, then moved east rapidly, disappearing in seconds. [Section VII]
10-7-58	Nantucket, Mass.	From ship's log: Unknown object "remained stationary for a minute or more, then shot up and away to the northeast and disappeared out of sight at a rapid rate of speed." [Section VII]
10-26-58	Baltimore, Maryland	Egg-shaped UFO hovered above bridge; suddenly shot straight up into sky making explosive sound.
11-5-58	Conway, New Hampshire	Bright light like "red beacon" hovered in sky for about 15 minutes; then accelerated and sped away.
12-20-58	Dunellen, New Jersey	Police saw bright red elliptical UFO approach from west, hover; zoom "straight up like a shot." [Section I]
1-1-59	Newport Beach, California	Round, rotating UFO (or four close together) hovered, then split into four UFOs, two of which rose vertically at extreme speed. Another headed southeast and fourth remained stationary.
1-8-59	Near Walworth, Wisconsin	Round UFO descended slowly; suddenly sped off on a horizontal path at high speed, trailing sparks.[ Section V]
4-12-59	Montreal, Canada	Reddish UFO hovered over air base for several minutes, darted away to north.[ Section X]
5-14-59	Des Moines, Iowa	UFO hovered, later streaked away.[3]
6-3-59	Near Bloomington, Indiana	Bright torpedo-shaped UFO hovered at angle for 6 to 8 minutes, dove toward earth disappearing below horizon.
8-24-59	Near Emmetsburg, Maryland	Brilliant white, planet-like UFO hovered over 2 minutes; took off straight up at terrific speed.
9-7-59	Wallingford, Kentucky	Disc-like UFO hovered low over ground; rose abruptly, sped away horizontally.
9-24-59	Redmond, Oregon	Disc, observed by police officer, descended, hovered several minutes, shifted abruptly to new position; spouted "flames" from underside and rose quickly into scattered clouds. [Section V]
4-25-60	Plymouth, New Hampshire	Bright red, cigar-shaped UFO with vertical bands of light hovered in eastern sky; suddenly moved south at high speed, lighting tree branches as it passed. [Section VII]
7-1-60	Near Leefe, Wyoming	Disc approached from south, hovered over slag dump, ascended and took off to south at "tremendous speed."
7-2-60	Near Maiquetia, Venezuela	Luminous UFO paralleled Venezuelan Airlines Super-Constellation for 20 minutes, suddenly shot away at terrific speed. [Section X]
9-28-60	Arlington, Texas	Star-like UFO, moved slowly relative to stars; suddenly sped away horizontally. [Section V]
10-3-60	Cressy, Australia	Gray, cigar-shaped UFO with vertical bands (5 to 6 satellite objects associated) hovered just below cloud cover, rose rapidly into clouds. [Section II]
2-7-61	Kennebunkport, Maine	Bright red, dome-shaped UFO hovered for two minutes; suddenly accelerated, disappearing swiftly in east. [Section VII]
4-9-61	Kingsville, Texas	Round, bright red UFO descended rapidly through overcast, hovered for a few minutes; emitted black "smoke" and sped off to southeast disappearing in overcast.
9-13-61	Crawfordsville, Indiana	Round, orange UFO approached rapidly, stopped and hovered for 5 minutes; light internally increased, UFO accelerated and rapidly sped away.
10-2-61	Salt Lake City, Utah	Disc hovered; as plane approached, object rose quickly like elevator, moved away, hovered again; finally moved up and shot away to west at "extremely accelerated speed." [Section I]
10-12-61	Indianapolis, Indiana	Spherical UFO with row of lights like ports, hovered, spiraled upward, hovered, sped away to south.
2-9-62	Bedfordshire, England	Disc with black markings like "portholes or air vents" hovered above road, moved slowly ahead of car; glow appeared around object, it "veered" to right and took off at high speed. [Section VIII]
5-18-02	Ft. Lauderdale, Florida	Cigar-shaped UFO hovered, began moving slowly southwest, changed direction and flashed away to west. [Section VII]
9-15-62	Oradell, New Jersey	Disc-shaped UFO darted back and forth, touched down on reservoir; moments later took off at high speed.
9-21-62	Hawthorne, New Jersey	Circular UFO (apparently a disc) hovered, began moving when spotlight shone at it, sped away rapidly.
