March 23 [22?], 20 miles S of Yakima, Wash. (BBU 1076)
6:56 and 7 [6:05? 6:33?] p.m. USAF pilot and radar operator of F-94 jet
interceptor made 2 sightings of a stationary red fireball that
increased in brightness then faded over 45 secs. Note: Project Blue
Book Status Report #7 (May 31, 1952) says target was also tracked by
ground radar at 78 knots (90 mph) at 22,500 ft and 25,000 ft altitude.

Object picked up on ground radar
at 0205Z and an Air Defense Command Alert Aircraft
(F-94) scrambled at 0233Z 23 March 1952
. USAF pilot and radar operator of F-94 jet
interceptor made 2 sightings of a stationary red fireball that
increased in brightness then faded over 45 secs.
Object observed visually from F-94 aircraft,
speed 360 TAS, at 22,500 feet and again at 25,000 feet.
No activity meteorlogical or otherwise,
which might account for the sightings reported.
